When asked about his 2.5-foot marijuana plant, William Reynolds of St. Johnsbury, Vermont told police he was “just experimenting”. According to Reuters, Reynolds planted a seed that he keep for years before deciding to grow his bud, which drew attention from fellow tenants at his apartment complex who called police.

Reynolds was slapped with a $200 fine under Vermont’s new bill signed in June, which decriminalizes possession of less than one ounce (28.3 grams) of marijuana.

Prior to June, Reynolds would have faced up to six months in jail. Life is all about timing!
