Kim Raymond Feaste loves turtles. The 21 year-old man loves turtles so much that he made the decision to steal sea turtle eggs from a protected nest in Casey Key, Florida.
Feaste looked directly into a visitor’s camera as they snapped photos of him with his hands in the nest. Florida of Fish and Wildlife, with the help of a crystal clear photo, tracked Feaste to his residence where they found him in possession of an illegal loggerhead turtle.
In a statement made to WTSP, Officer Baryl Martin of the Florida of Fish and Wildlife Commission said:
“It’s extremely illegal in the State of Florida to possess a sea turtle.”
“Possession of a seas turtle or disturbance of a nest is a third degree felony and punishable by up to five years in prison and a $5,000 fine.”
Kim is out of jail after posting a $2,000 bond.
Turtles though? What are you stealing turtles for, man?!
